I went to their website at www.keswickchristianchurch.ca. Its an attractive site. However, on their history page they say that in 1821 they were the first Christian church organized in Upper Canada. Thats not true there were lots of Anglican and Roman Catholic churches in Upper Canada before that.
I had the same thought when I read their history as well.
I wonder if they mean that they were the first church "organized" in Upper Canada, as opposed to churches that where created by denominations that were already organized before coming to Upper Canada.
In any case, they ought to clarify this claim.
Another problem they have is their name. Keswick is associated with a particular Christian movement, and some people would not realize that Keswick, in this case, is simply the location.
In the same way, I was surprised when I first heard of a Presbyterian church named St. Mary's. They are usually named after Andrew or Peter or Paul... dah.
